Lanškroun's nature park

Lanškroun Pond Nature Park was established in 1990 as a place of relaxation and sports activities for people's self-realization. It also has an importance from biological and aesthetic points of view. The territory of 243 ha extends around the area of Lanškroun. Olšový, Pšeničkův, Slunečný and Plockův Pond belong between the most important ponds. These ponds are perfect and quiet spots for fishing. The area of Lanškroun Ponds is an important nesting place and no less important place for migratory of birds. The Common Snipe, Little Bittern, White and Black Stork, Water Rail, Osprey, Great Reed Warbler and many duck species belong between the most endangered ones. We can also see here European Crayfish, Alpine Newt, European and Green Toad, European Tree Frog and other species of amphibians. Flora is typical for damp areas. The plants growing here are for example the Yellow Iris, White Water- Lily, Western Marsh Orchid, Bugbean, Spring Snowflake and other species.
